I wear a 11.5 wide boot and I have a high instep. I recently bought a pair of boots online from JK boots and when I received them realized that my instep was too high and they just weren't comfortable. I knew that the boots could be stretched for the perfect fit and saw this Vamp and Instep stretcher from Foot Fitter. I thought is would be the perfect tool for the job. I ordered it and when I received it I put it in my boot to stretch the instep but that didn't happen. The tongue on this stretcher is too short and didn't even reach to the instep. I jammed it in the boot and even used a block of wood to push it as forward as possible and it still didn't reach. What I mean to say is that with it jammed as far forward as possible I cranked it all the way up and could still lift this device out of the boot without effort. that's how short the working part of this device is. This device might work for some people with smaller feet but for me and people of my size feet this device will not help you one bit.
Before I bought this device I read all the information supplied by the company and even some reviews. It all sounded very promising but it turned out to be a pipe dream and that's why I can't recommend this device to anyone with a size foot bigger than a "9" and that may be generous. I'm writing this because now I have to return it and want to save everyone else of the hassle. This is not a cheap item and one would think that because of the price it would work as described and this device just fails at it. FootFitter should be embarrassed for selling this device without a disclaimer stating a size of boot it works on, or they should sell this device according to size of boot one needs it for and in that case the tongue would be lengthened accordingly.
My final statement is don't buy this device. It doesn't work as described and is not worth the money. I only give it one star because of those reasons.
