Shoe stretchers are typically used for leather shoes but I found the Professional One-Way Shoe Stretcher to work well on my athletic shoes, too.

I have two of you shoe stretchers now. One for boots and one for regular shoes. I have wide feet and EE widths arent available in a lot of shoes. Even shoes marked Wide aren't actually wide because they come from foreign factories with poor quality control even though they may be brand names. Using you shoe stretchers are way easier than shipping shoes back all the time. The inserts are great for getting those hard to reach spots like where big and little toes touch and the top of the shoe over the instep.
